Hi again!

We want to share with you a little bit about what we will be doing in the USA!

We will spent nine months of independent studies in Ashland Theological Seminary, in Ashland, Ohio. They have allowed us to go there and, very kindly, have offered us a program of studies related to what we want to learn. The Lord guided the procces that leaded us to contact the Seminary, and they have opened all doors!

We will attend to courses on counseling, based on spiritual formation through the spiritual disciplines, and on psychological studies about the developmental stages of the brain, the way it works, and the way that is affected by a deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This involves healing of deep wounds and traumas; discovering and experiencing the truth about ourselves and that is ours in Christ; dealing with the deep roots of sin... And the most important, the foundation of everything else: being transformed into the image of Christ, trough the relationship with him as is described in 2 Co. 3:18: “As all of us reflect the Lord’s glory with faces that are not covered with veils, we are being changed into his image with ever-increasing glory. This comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit”.

We will go through this procces with the supervision of a personal mentor, Dr. Donna Thomas (in whose home we spent last two days there in the States), as well as professors, counselers...

So we are excited!
After the experience of the first seminar in June, we can't wait not only to gain more knowledge and training, but also grow as persons spiritually and emotionally.

In next updates, we will explain the procces that leaded us to this moment. It's amazing!

Queremos compartir con vosotros acerca de lo que haremos en USA.

El Seminario Teológico de Ashland, en el estado de Ohio, nos ha permitido muy amablemente ir allí, y nos ha ofrecido un programa de estudios e investigación en la línea de lo que queremos aprender. Dios ha guiado el proceso que nos ha llevado hasta este Seminario, y ellos nos han abierto todas sus puertas.

Si Dios quiere, pasaremos nueve meses de estudios independientes sobre consejeria basada en la formacion espiritual a traves del cultivo de las disciplinas espirituales, y en los estudios de la psicología sobre las etapas del desarrollo del cerebro y el modo en que funciona. Una relación personal profunda con Jesucristo tiene consecuencias psicológicas tales como la sanidad de las heridas causadas por traumas; descubrir y experimentar la verdad sobre nosotros mismos y sobre lo que es nuestro en Cristo; tratar las raíces profundas del pecado... Y lo más importante, lo que supone el fundamento de todo: ser transformado en la imagen de Cristo, a través de la relación con Él, tal y como se describe en 2 Co. 3:18: “Así, todos nosotros, que con el rostro descubierto reflejamos como en un espejo la gloria del Señor, somos transformados a su semejanza con más y más gloria por la acción del Señor, que es el Espíritu”.

Haremos este proceso acompañados, con la supervisión de la dra. Donna Thomas (en cuya casa hemos pasado los últimos dos días allí en USA), así como otros consejeros, profesores...

¡Así es que estamos emocionados!
Tras la experiencia del primer seminario en junio, no podemos esperar, no sólo a tener más formación, conocimiento o experiencia, sino también crecer como personas, espiritual y emocionalmente.

En próximas actualizaciones os contaremos el proceso que nos ha guiado hasta este momento. ¡Es increíble!

Wir wollten euch etwas näher erklären, was wir in den Staaten machen werden!
Wir werden für neun Monate einen unabhängigen massgeschneiderten Studiengang mi Ashland Theological Seminary, in Ashland, Ohio studieren. Der Herr hat uns im ganzen Prozess begleitet und hat uns dazu geführt Kontakt mit der Bibelschule aufzunehmen und dort wurden uns alle Türen geöffnet!

Wir werden Kurse zu Seelsorge besuchen. Diese sind auf die auf geistliche Disziplinen und psychologische Studien über die Hirnentwicklungsstadien, die Hirnfunktion und wie dies eine tiefgehende Beziehung zu Jesus Christus beeinflusst, basiert.

Dies zieht Heilung tiefer emotioneller Wunden und Traumas mit sich; das Entdecken und das Erleben der Wahrheit über uns die wir durch Christus erreichen; wie mit den tiefen Wurzeln der Sünde umzugehen. Und das Wichtigste, auf das alles gegründet ist: in Jesu Bild, durch die Beziehung zu ihm umgestaltet zu werden, wie es in 2. Korinther 3, 18 beschrieben wird:
“Wir alle aber stehen mit unverhülltem Gesicht vor Gott und spiegeln seine Herrlichkeit wider. Der Herr verändert uns durch seinen Geist, damit wir ihm immer ähnlicher werden und immer mehr Anteil an seiner Herrlichkeit bekommen.”

Wir werden in durch die ganze Studienzeit von unserer persönlichen Mentorin, Dr. Donna Thomas (in deren Haus wir die letzten 2 Tage unseres Aufenthalts in den Staaten verbracht haben) und anderen Professoren und Seelsorgern, beaufsichtigt und begleitet werden.

Wir sind also echt gespannt!
Nach dem wir das erste Seminar mi Juni erlebt haben, können wir es gar nicht abwarten, nicht nur neue Kenntnisse zu erlagen “trainiert” zu werden sonder als Personen geistlich und emotionell zu wachsen.

In folgenden updates, werden wir näher darauf eingehen, wie es dazu kam dass wir nach Ashland studieren gehen. Ist echt ne coole Geschichte!

Hi there! Here we are again. Still alive. Seems like it has been a year since last time we wrote something here. LOTS OF THINGS have happened (all positive!). The Seminar finished last Saturday, and it has been a great blessing (would be difficult to explain even a little bit more than that!).
Sunday evening we went to the house of one of our future mentors for a reception she prepared for us. We had a great time (and a great meal too) with some of the most relevant people in our project, such as the director of Ashland Theologycal Seminary, Dr. John Shultz, or Dr. Terry Wardle, director of the Institute of Formational Counseling and a professor in the Seminary, and a lot more of beautiful people. We could share with them our testimony and vision, and they recieved us with open arms. It was such a blessing.
Now we are spending our last days here at Jim and Donna Thomas's home, somewhere near Ashland (can't remember all this names!). They are so kind and lovely... We are very thankful to them. The place is more than beautiful, as you can see in the pictures below. So we are having some peaceful rest before we go back to Spain.

¡Hola! Pues aquí andamos otra vez. Seguimos vivos. Parece que ha pasado un año desde la última vez que escribimos aquí. Han pasado MUCHAS COSAS, todas buenas. El seminario terminó el sábado, y ha sido una gran bendición (sería difícil de explicar... ¡Aún estamos procesándolo!).
El domingo por la tarde nos prepararon una recepción en casa de una de nuestras futuras mentoras. Tuvimos un buen tiempo (y una buena comida) con algunas de las personas más relevantes para nuestro proyecto, como el director del Seminario Teológico de Ashland, el Dr. John Schultz, o el Dr. Terry Wardle, director del “Institute of Formational Counseling” y profesor del Seminario, y muchos otros. Pudimos compartir nuestro testimonio y visión con ellos, y nos recibieron con brazos abiertos. Fue una auténtica bendición.
Ahora estamos pasando nuestros últimos días aquí en casa de Jim y Donna Thomas, en algún lugar cerca de Ashland (no puedo recordar todos estos nombres). Son muy amables y cariñosos y les estamos muy agradecidos... El lugar es precioso, como podéis ver en las fotos abajo. Así que estamos teniendo unos días de paz y descanso antes de volver a España.

Hallo! Da sind wir wieder. Immer noch am Leben. Es kommt uns so vor als ob es ein Jahr lang her ist als wir euch das letzte mal geschrieben haben. Es ist SO VIEL PASSIERT nur Gutes. Das Seminar hat am Samstag aufgehoert und war echt segensreich (es waer zu schwer um es zu erklaeren... wir sind immernoch dabei es zu verarbeiten!).
Am Sonntag nachmittag waren wir bei einer von unseren zukuenftigen Mentorin wo sie einen Empfang fuer uns vorbereitet hatte. Es war ne tolle Zeit (und tolles Essen) mit den wichtigsten Leuten die mit dem Projekt zu tun haben, wie zum Beispiel der Bibelschul Direktor, Dr. John Shultz, oder Dr. Terry Wardle, der Direktor des “Institute of Formational Counseling” und Professor an der Bibelschule und so viele weitere wunderbare Leute. Wir konnten mit ihnen unser Zeugnis und unsere Vision teilen und sie empfingen uns mit offenen Armen.
Jetzt verbringen wir unsere letzten tage (hier in Amerika : ) ) in Jim und Donna Thoma's Haus, irgendwo in der Naehe von Ashland (ich kann mich nicht an alle Namen erinnern!). Sie sind so lieb... Wir sind ihnen echt dankbar. Der Ort ist wunderschoen, wie ihr auf den Bilder unten sehen koennt. Wir konnten echt auspannen bevor es wieder nach Spanien zurueckgeht.

Hey you guys! We're doing well here! Lots of exciting things are happening! The Lord is so good, and He is revealing to us in amazing ways. We don't have much time to write down in detail everything that we are learning and experiencing, but sure we will, as soon as our schedule makes it possible. Hola gente! Estamos teniendo un tiempo genial aquí! Muchas cosas emocionantes están pasando. Dios es bueno, y nos lo está revelando en maneras increíbles. No tenemos mucho tiempo para escribiros detalladamente todo lo que estamos aprendiendo y experimentando, pero seguro que lo haremos, tan pronto como nuestra agenda nos lo permita. Hallo Leute! Wir haben echt ne tolle Zeit hier! Es passieren viele aufregnde Dinge. Gott is gut, und er macht es uns auf viele verschiedene Arten und Weisen sichtbar. Wir haben nicht viel Zeit um euch alles was wir lernen und erleben detaillierter zu beschreiben, aber wir werden es sicher tun, sobald es uns unser "Stundenplan" erlaubt. We are finally here!

The trip has been veeeery long! In Philadelphia airport, while we waited to take the second flight, we went to a bar and ate chicken tenders with Tabasco and french fries… We finally were in the USA!

Once in Cleveland, Dan Woods, a recently graduated student of Ashland Theological Seminary (where we are going to study too) picked us up and took us to our apartment. He told us about life in Ashland, and the most important thing about it: where restaurants are! (This is specially mentioned to keep our mom’s calm: we won’t be hungry!)

At nine thirty we arrived to our apartment, in the seminar’s residence, where Norman and Gwen were waiting for us. We took a little walk around here, saw the Seminary buildings and gardens. It was dark, so we are going again this morning. Our short course starts tomorrow, so we have this whole day to explore and relax, and that is great, because next days are going to be intense.

We hope we can take some pictures of the place to show you where we are.

Pues ya hemos llegado...

El viaje fue laaaargo... En el aeropuerto de Filadelfia, mientras esperábamos para coger el segundo vuelo, nos cenamos (a las cuatro y media de la tarde hora local) unos chicken tenders con patatas fritas y Tabasco... ¡La cosa iba cogiendo ya un sabor americano!

Una vez en Cleveland, nos recogió Dan Woods, un estudiante del Seminario Teológico de Ashland (donde nosotros vamos a estudiar también) que se graduó el sábado, y que nos puso un poco al día de la vida en Ashland, y lo que es más importante, ¡dónde están los restaurantes! (Esta aclaración es para que nuestras madres estén tranquilas, ¡no pasaremos hambre!).

A las 21:30 hora local llegamos al apartamento donde nos alojamos, en la residencia de estudiantes del seminario, donde Norman y Gwen nos recibieron. Dimos un primer paseo por la zona y vimos las instalaciones del Seminario. Ya estaba oscuro, así que ahora saldremos otra vez a explorar. Mañana empieza nuestro curso, que dura cuatro días; la intensidad de esos días está asegurada. Así que tampoco está mal esta jornada de tranquilidad.

Esperamos poder hacer algunas fotos y colgarlas para que veáis dónde estamos.

Da sind wir…

Es war eine laaaaange Reise… Am Flughafen haben wir (um 16:30) erstmal chicken tenders und Pommes mit tabasco zu Abend gegessen... ¡Das hat schonmal nach Amerika geschmeckt!
Als wir in Cleveland ankamen hat uns Dan Woods abgeholt. Er ist Student am Theologischen Seminar in Ashla (wo wir auch studieren werden) er hat letzten Samstag sein Studium abgeschlossen… und auf dem Weg hat er uns aufs laufende ubre das Leben in Ashland gebracht und das Wichtigste: Er hat uns gezeigt wo die Restaurant-Zone ist! ( Diese Kommentar ist für unsere Mütter, damit sie sich keine Sorgen machen müssen dass wir verhungern warden…) (Kommentar von Pablo!!! : ))

Um 21:30 Ortszeit kamen wir an unserem Apartment an. Norman und Gwen hiessen uns willkommen und wir haben unseren ersten Spaziergang in der Gegend gemacht und haben die Installationen angeschaut. Es war schon dunkel, deshalb gehen wir gleich nochmal raus um die Gegend zu erforschen.

Morgen geht unser Seminar los, das vier Tage dauern wird; die Intensität dieser Tage ist gesichert. Deshalb ist es nicht schlecht, dass wir heute die Sache etwas langsamer angehen lassen.

Wir hoffen, dass wir einige Fotos machen können, damit ihr sehen könnt wo wir sind.

Danke für eure Gebete, wir brauchen sie. Wir warden euch weiterhin auf dem Laufenden halten.
